Staples Enterprise Security Operations Manager in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the creation and development of programs and process improvement strategies that meet immediate and long-term goals for the entire network.

  • Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs and develop analyst training appropriate for their role.

  • Responsible for the annual Capital and Expense budget planning process.

  • Provide operational oversight, training, and quality assurance for an evolving Emergency Security Operations Center consisting of a team with varied strengths responsible for alarm monitoring, intelligence research and analysis, travel safety and security, event and incident management and workplace safety issues.

  • Evaluate operator use of various physical security systems and best practices using a data driven approach. Areas of evaluation include access control, video management, life-safety, interpersonal skills on the phone and radio, accurate use of mass-notification systems to facilitate the response to potential security/safety events.

  • Use all available technical resources to ensure the safety and security of Staples assets (people, assets, and brand) at all times.

  • Work closely with Special Events team, Executive Administrators and Senior Leadership Team Members to provide adequate executive protection and large meeting security support. This is including but is not limited to pre-site assessments/risk reviews, 3rd party security support and possibly traveling to events to be the main point of contact for all security services.

  • Collaborate with partners to ensure technical solutions, workflows, and processes for the Emergency Security Operations Center are thoughtful, innovative, and forward-looking.

  • Create system of reporting that drives efficiency and accurately represents team output.

  • Establish communication protocols and solution to coordinate calls with key stakeholders as needed to manage incidents.

  • Partner with the various lines of business to support all security aspects related to company projects, programs, services, and system related goals.

  • Work and collaborate with other Managers in a Fusion Center environment to protect all Staples assets.

  • Work closely with the Crisis Manager to manage large scale emergency events across the network.

  • Support Crisis Management and Business Continuity incident reporting structure as required by Staples established Crisis Management Plans.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a deeply collaborative approach.

  • Accessible writer and speaker, using plain language to communicate clearly.

  • Problem solver – a knack for seeing problems others don’t, and pulling together the right team to fix them.

  • Excellent organization and careful documentation of what happened.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working in and leading personnel in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), or similar command center environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience or high school/GED degree with industry certification (CEM, CBCP or the like)

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) strongly preferred; or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) with relevant experience preferred.

  • Corporate experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge with threat intelligence monitoring, assessment, and dissemination.
